  • Object with self illumination behind glass

Is there a way to change in VBF the multiplier and the color of vrayselfillumination RE behind glass? (without the need to use ligtmix RE).
I try and it doesn't work for me

    HI, thanks for posting.

I don't think there is but I will look into this in a bit more details and get back to the thread.

Set the glass refraction to affect all channels.

        Thanks LeLe

It works as you suggested but the glass becomes brighter
See attachment (I did not change the the selfilumination)

          and another question.
What are the disadvantages of using for glass the option of effect all Chanels and color+alpha?
          Thanks

EDIT: this is due to the glass refractionn being doubled up. Deactivate the refraction RE in the B2B composite.

There are no significant ones from a computational standpoint.
What changes is that the parts seen behind refraction will not end up in the refraction RE alone, but will go where they should, with affect all.
            F.e. selfIllumination, or an mask.
With color+alpha, the refraction will make the alpha of the image as black as required, instead of leaving it solid white.

Both modes are optional due to varied workflows.
