  • Elements Behind VRay Sky?

Hi, I am using VRaySky and wondered if anyone knows if it's possible to put 3D objects behind the clouds? In my case, I'd like to add a planet but it obviously gets rendered in front of the clouds currently. Just curious if there's any sort of trick to use the clouds as a mask without having to do it in post.

    Thank you!

Not that I know of. You cannot currently generate a mask for the clouds, but maybe it's a good idea to add the idea to the portal.

I was trying to achieve this with a composite map, overlaying vraysky on top of an hdri, but it crashed. So even hacking it together with compositing maps doesn't work. I've always had crashes with VraySky in composite maps as this bug report explains: https://forums.chaos.com/forum/v-ray...20#post1191720

. hermit.crab any idea when this might be solved?
      A.

Can't say. However, I will discuss this with the product manager to see if we can raise its priority.
