  • editable mesh question

    Hi,

    I have buy and download a tree 3d model, the editable show like the image attached here, when render it look ok. is this normal?

      The tree trunk not display in mesh, it only display circle a line...is it normal? when render it look fine...

        It's because it's a Growfx tree, so it'll render fine but is a pain if you wanted to edit the geometry for any reason. Try converting it to editable poly and you'll see that it is pretty messed up.

          I have converted it to editpoly, but cannot edit, can delete some part only. Is that anyway to make it as normal mesh, quad surface... so we can edit it easily?

            I guess it depends on what you want to edit but what you can do is to detach the trunk and branches, apply a subdivide to clean up the circles nastiness, then retopologise that, giving you quads.
            You'd lose the mapping, so would have to deal with that but at least it be 'normal'.
