  • Question on IR+LC maps...plz. help

    Hi all,
kind of general question, but I cannot describe my problem in much details, so I will ask a couple of specific questions:

    1. using IR (multiframe incremental) + LC (walkthrou), is it possible that these maps "build up" over the lenght of the animation, so that early frames render faster than later frames?

    2. does ever happens that a frame rendered out of MAX, using single frame IR+LC(200 subs), is processed much faster that the same frame rendered along an animated sequence (650 frames), using saved IR+LC maps (LC 1000 subs, IR same as single frame)?

You understand where this is going, right?

I work on my interior scene, testing frames now and then, and when I finally send the whole sequence, rendertime skyrocket out of proportion, if compared with the single frame tests.

    Thank you

    regards,

    gio

you should try Incremental Add to current map, have the lc set to Flythrough, calculate that and save it down, then tick from file.
With Incremental Add to current map, your IR map calcs with get faster and faster because it all ready has the previous data to reference and to add to. I guess you know to render every 10 - 15th frame for the calcs?

its been a while since we had to write ou the procedure. in the early days when we were first comming up with the procedure we used to write it alot for people. alhtough the step about putting AA down to -4 -4 isnt needed anymore hehe wow how time flys when your having fun (and wow how your renders fly when using vray)
