...but when we we work in combustion we use Max renders with EVEN fields and treat them as UPPER...

Hrm, that confuses me. I've always remembered these 2 by looking at the fields numerically. The first (upper) field is 1, which is an odd number. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interlaced_video
This article on wikipedia supports that, but I'm not one to blindly trust wikipedia, and it was surprisingly hard to confirm this one way or the other via google.

How do you change the field order within max? I thought I remembered seeing a drop down box for it, but I can't seem to find it now.
there are certain video export cards that differed. some would used upper fields 1st some would use lower fields first.
