  • Chrome cylinder anisotropic reflections

Is it possible to create the anisotropic reflections you find on the top of chrome machined cylinders with the standard vray material settings, or do I need to work with a bump map with a very fine set of concentric circles?
I've tried to get the effect using the ward shader with various settings, but no joy.

    Any ideas?

    You mean something like this?

Chamfered cylinder with Vray material with dark grey diffuse, white reflection w/fresnel enabled, fresnel IOR unlocked and set to 16. BRDF: Ward, anisotropy=-.5
