A fair few people have the dongles. Just not everyone.

Its your reseller that should be shipping the dongles to you. So you may want to contact them to obtain it.

Well until you get your dongles.. just continue with RC3 I guess.

I contacted my reseller, Digimation, on Wednesday, to inquire about the status of my USB dongle. Apparently they have no idea when they will receive their shipment of dongles. The friendly sales person I spoke with assured me that I'd be contacted as soon as they are available.

So, for anyone else who purchased VRay through Digimation, that's the dongle news as of August 8th.

I'm really looking forward to using 1.50. I just hope the wait is weeks, not months.

            The reseller should.

Give them a call and see where things are up to.

FYI, we have a good sized allotment of VRay dongles in stock. If you purchased VRay originally from another dealer and are having trouble getting your dongles, you can contact Chaos to have the job assigned to us, and we will ship it out to you free (first class mail in a padded envelope). I don't think any VRay customers should have to feel like they are in limbo over this.

Also if you have any troubles getting VRay 1.5 to work I am willing to help out. Some of the issues I've seen so far:

Getting WIBU drivers to install correctly (check the wibu home page if necessary, check the WIBU utility in control panel to confirm)
Running Norton, which blocks ports sometimes
setting license source to "localhost" in the max dialog

                  hope this helps -

Well the dongles were meant to be free. Chaosgroup wasnt charging for them. So the few resellers that are charging people for them are basically ripping you people off.

This has been mentioned a few times now and bluegfx is one of the culprits. quite sad really.

FYI - Vismasters isn't charging for the dongle itself, but shipping only - so yeah, make sure if there are any charges, it's only for shipping. Be sure that's what your reseller is charging you for...

Trinity3D, on the otherhand, has stated they're shipping their dongles FREE, so big ups to them!

yeah steer clear of bluegfx and ideate I think was the other one.. might have been one more.

Charging for shipping is fairly acceptable, but it would be such a small cost as the dongle is tiny.
