Question: VirtualPC / VMWare to mix 64bit/32bit renderfarm

Would it be possible to let a XP 64 run 32 and 64bit
backburner/max 9 configs with VirtualPC or VMWare (which
are free) at the same time, allowing to render in a mixed
renderfarm or would max not allow this kind of emulation?

Thanks to the fast PCs of today there shouldn't be a
big loss of speed....

Yes, that's what I wanted to know, if it's possible to run
64bit and 32bit Max 9 jobs on the same 64 Bit machine.

64bit max 9 will render exactly the same as 32bit max 9, so why would you want to have both installed?

Because if you submit a render job from a Max9 64bit workstation, only Max9 64bit nodes will render it. Likewise, if you submit from a Max9 32bit workstation, only Max9 32bit nodes will render.

So depending on your renderfarm/workstation setup, you'd conceivably have to submit your job twice to ensure the entire farm is working on it.
