  • The New Years Project 2008

Well.....We have this super top secret project....that of course I am about to share....lol

In the downtown area where we are, there is a sort of plaza where next year we are going to host a gala....a shindig...or even perhaps a HoDown.....And I have been asked to come up with some ideas and model some things.....

Well...Perdue Chicken is Big here...I mean Big.....So We are proposing to do an EGG DROP...Like the ball drop..... From the top of our building.....All around the building there will be HAPPY NEW YEAR signs that will light up at the key moment.....and the Egg will start to drop at a minute or so left..etc..etc.. What I want is for the egg to fall and then at the bottom CRACK Open and Lights SHOOT up into the sky....Confetti....And fireworks...etc..etc.. How would I do the lights, confetti, etc. Should I use SNOW or some sort of particle system? All of this would be Photomontaged over a night Photo I shall post some test so you guys can get a better understanding

    Thanx all

I assume there would have to be some sort of affer effects or glow thing

                cool

Im sure I have seen a tut out there for fireworks using pflow.
I would imagine you could use max video post/render effects for some glow effects, but after after effects would be more controlable.

And confetti shouldnt be too hard at all.

I think it was on evermotion I saw a tutorial for doing fireworks with particle flow, looked pretty good and in-depth too. Theres another guys site who's got a huge number of pflow tutorials on it, stuff thats been in 3dworld. I cant remember his name but im sure someone else knows what i'm talking about.

I'd do all the rendering in layers and try to do as much in post as possible too.
