reflections not correct

    I think you are on the right track with using a standard max omni. The only thing that I think your image is missing is some of the specular highlights that you would normally see when affect specular is on. I would leave affect specular on and turn it off in the materials that you dont want highlights on. Some times I will use two lights one for specular and one for diffuse where the specular light will be a lower intensity. I feel that images begin to look to flat without the fake specular highlights.

        looking great. soften the shadows quite a bit though. gives the image a harsh feel.
