The renderelement just gathers what it gets from the shader. Perhaps the VRay Material could be changed so in case of transparency it returns the object ID of the refracted rays. This would be something for the Wishlist then.
Having some trouble getting multiple multimmatte channels back from my renders.
I have assigned 6 material IDs to six blocks within a scene.
3 of these materials are assigned to a multimatte channel with corresponding ID channels: Mat Ids 1,2,3
Another 3 materials have channels corresponding with another multimatte: Mats ids 4,5,6.
My problem is with the vray frame buffer i can only ever seem to get one channel file saved out.
I have split render channels set.
I can manage to get all the channels saved out without vray frame buffer using the multichannel matte, but only locally. I f i net-render I have the same problem of only one file being saved.
Am i missing something? Is there anyway to render more than one multimatte element accross a network?
i have a question, that hopefully is an easy answer...
i was using the multirenderelement before the final version of 1.5. everything worked great, and the AA was perfect.
after version 1.5 released, i started using the version that was included with 1.5. now they don't AA at all. they look just like the VrayMtlID did, all aliased.
there were no code changes. Did you try using adaptive subdivision and check the "outline" checkbox?
If the beauty pass does not need more samples (e.g. it's black) your renderelements won't get more samples either.
The links to multimatte are broken; is it still available? We'd prefer not to have to wait for the next release of Vray! We're on Max9/1.5r3 and will also be on 2008/1.5 "official". Thanks.
