Hehe, V-Ray is 'Advanced', because it also had a 'Basic' version in the beginning

    Best regards,

I do never render bigger than 5000 px! I also made a banner of 8 meter length from a 5k rendering. the quality was great! the plotter resizes it automatically.

      best regards

Just while we're banding around resolutions, I've just had to render a fully textured figure consisting of nearly 4'000'000 polys at render time, with glossy reflections & GI at 14'000 pixels high.

Which thanks to Vray (& the .vrimg format), I actually managed to do in one hit!

The last large render I did was a 14'x40' render for a local home builder and I used Genuine Fractals to blow it up from I think the original was a little less than half the size but the final image was only 50dpi and looked great.

As a side note if the printer says you need more dpi tell him/her to go pound sand. The um person that printed the job had my client convinced that the 14'x40' image had to be 300dpi took me 2 days to convince them otherwise.

Yeah those printer people don't realy know what they're asking for I think. I had a similar situration where the client wanted to put up a looonnng banner (like 200') on a construction fence and they were asking for 300dpi because that's what the printer told them they needed. I only convinced them otherwise by printing out small sections at 300dpi and another at 50dpi and having them stand back about 5 feet and they couldn't tell the difference.
