  • Changing Topology and Moblur

I am using a custom plugin that loads a new cached mesh per frame but has a function to blend between these meshes on sub-frames. Is there any way of getting VRay Moblur to understand the sub-frame vertex motion or does it have a problem with the topology changing at the frame marker?

I know that there is a definite problem with topology changing but I thought that the sub-frame blending may be considered.

how is the mesh changing? are you using a morph or something? or is it creating a new topography each frame?

This is a plugin that was written by one of our developers and AFAIK has no connection to any tool shipped with Max.

You need to make sure that V-Ray's motion blur interval falls within the interval where the number of faces/vertices stays the same (i.e. the interval does not cross a frame marker).

The motion blur interval in V-Ray is controlled by the Duration and Interval center parameters (when using a regular camera) and Shutter angle/Shutter offset when using the physical camera.
