So why exactly aren't these builds made public? What's wrong with having a stable version available for download (at this moment i guess it's RC3) and a couple of new ones that would be made available for beta-testing to all?

It kinda... sucks, having people that are using the newer versions of vray, on every forum out there, except the actual chaos group forum.

So all i'm saying, don't waste time on implementing stronger protection, don't narrow down the list of beta testers... make it available for everyone.

They are not maybe public as they are still beta.. still have problems.. still in testing. General rule of thumb is dont release such products. Look at maxwell.. what a marvelous crash that was.
Most people who get RC4-5 only get it as they need to to get past a certain bug which is present in RC3.

Most of them out there are only using it as it was warezed.

Im pretty sure they are not planning on stronger protection, as it will still get cracked. They are nailing bugs and adding features.

The final version will be quite different from both rc4 and rc5. Some features went through several revisions before being finalized - which is one of the reasons why those builds are not public; if we release a build with some feature half-implemented and in development, which is later changed, we will still be forced to support the intermediate versions for compatibility - which is not fun at all and leads to further problems.

Not to mention that it ain't fun to keep changing scripts and plugins' code (for those ask dimo) for each RC.
I'll have to agree it's much better to be steadfast and wait.

You can always send an email and ask for a fix. Anyways, I hope the finally final build will be available in a couple of weeks.
