  • V-Ray RT

    hi vlado...

is the v-ray rt a separate software? or will it be a part of the next release of v-ray?
    looks really good...=D

It will not be in SP2 for sure; for now, it is a separate add-on for V-Ray.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

Have seen the car video and downloading the other one now.
      This looks very impressive.
What specification PC will you need to get reasonable results?

      I think I need this

the tests that you see in the video have been done with a 8 core if i'm right.

Yes can you tell us what was the hardware specs of the machine?

Is Vray RT hardware accelerated, or Software only like classical Vray?

Will we be able to distribute the RT render across network like DR mode ?

          Thanks.

He said 8 core machine plus it will be usable with a DR-like capability. Vlado also mentioned it's not optimized as of yet.

Even it is not optimized at all, works pretty fast. I wonder how long should we wait...
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

Yeah....pretty damn impressive if you ask me....even if its running on a dual quad. The time you would save in setting up lighting and materials would easily allow you to buy a couple of those dual quad machines.

I have been a beta tester for lots of software.... People should realize, especially for things that are in early stages that software often lacks features and crashes constantly. For that reason, when things break, you should be happy because it breaking means you found a bug and you can help make it better.

My point being, if you DO want to be a beta tester, take your roll seriously, and don't just install it and stop using it because it doesn't work. Your feedback to the developers is critical.
