Ok.. I've done a search on this forum and on some script sites and on google and can't find a quick answer to what I am looking for.
Is there a way in max or with a script out there (for max 9) that allows you to collapse multiple objects into one object and creates a multi-sub object material? A have some cars I'm trying to create Vrayproxies of.
The collapse utility in max doesn't seem to maintain the materials and if you select one object and use the "attach list" funtion to select all the objects I want to collapse into one mesh, max keeps crashing saying that it runs out of memory. And I'm only talking about 164 objects that total 267,000 polys.. so nothing crazy here.
I'm able to get it to work if I just select a few objects at a time with each collapse.. and saving between each one, but this is a pain.
Thanks..
