This has been happening for some time now:
Users (and myself) have been opening Max only to find the Vray plugin missing (unloaded). I open the plugin.ini to find that the lines contain the Vray reference is missing. I reinstall Vray and it recreates the ini with the Vray entries and it works fine.....for a while...then it happens again...over and over.
Ive come to write a .bat file thats included in our login that overwrites it each time they login (or I can run manually) and I have made the file read only for some. Making it read only seems to work but making that change on 100+ machines is difficult and awkward with tight user permissions.
Any idea why this happens? I was hoping it would go away with 2009 but it hasn't.
