  • Render node upgrade

I've got 130 render nodes that need to be upgraded to SP3, I don't want to go to each one and install the new update. In the past with other plugins I was able to just copy new files to the nodes and didn't have to go through the install process. Is that possible with this update?

A vray deployment system would be better, something like Refamo's node upgrade, but i guess that would have to go in the wish list..

Why don't you just try it on one node to see if it works?

install vray to c:\temp\ and all vray files you need are in the folder
just copy that folder to the nodes - if all nodes have the same path structure run a startup script to copy the files on boot up

I've got a batch file that copies vray files and plugins from a network location and I run it on each machine, although I suppose it would make more sense to make it the other way around - copy them from that location to each machine.

Can you run stuff from backburner? If I could, i'd tell all the nodes to run these bin files whenever server.exe is started.
