hi there, our company just purchased vray, and i have to find out, how you'd implement self illuminated spots into your materials?
i just browsed the vray help and searched this forum, but i got no real answer for my question.
i set up a procedural 3d lava material, that blends a black stone material and a red lava material inside a vray blend material.
both maps are seperated by a mask, that is done with the blur electric map.
the only missing part of the map is the self illumination of the red lava.
now i tried to put a vraylightmaterial inside a blend slot of the vrayblendmtl and also mask it with the electric map, but the result was not matching the mask. also the stone was lit..
how would you set this up?
thx!
sascha
this is the current setup:
and i want it to look like this standard 3dsmax blendmaterial
if you mind to take a look at this 3dsmax9 mat library
