  • Z-Depth and Transparency- Glass Material

    Hello to the VrayForum,
I am trying to render a z-depth channel but I cannot get the transparency of the glass material.
There is a house which has large glass facades on 4 sides and behind this windows there are lots of geometry: furniture and trees in the background.
When I render the z-depth channel, the glass surface nearest to the camera is rendered and everything behind this surface is ignored like glass is not transparent.
How must I render the z-depth channel so that my glass material is transparent in z-depth too?

    Thanks in advance.

there's an affect channels rolldown menu in the vray's mat refraction properties, you specify there where the transparency of the material has effect. set it to colour + alpha and you'll get transparent glass in the alpha channel as well.

I already tried this but the result didn't change.

But thank you very much for reply.

I'm sorry, I don't know why but I kept reading alpha channel instead of Z. my bad. set it to the third option, which is all channels, then it should work all right.
