  • Storing SSS info for distributed rendering (render farms)?

    Hi,

I want to render one of my scenes using a render farm. (one of the many on the web)

However, my scene has fastSSS2 materials, which don't come together properly if using distributed rendering.

Is there a way to store the SSS information, so the scene can be distributed-rendered on these render farms?

    Regards,
    Adam

VRayFastSSS2 works fine with V-Ray's own distributed rendering, but not if the render farm uses another method to break the image into regions. Saving the sss map has been requested before; hopefully we'll get there.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

DR with SSS will work in the classic way with master and spawner (NOT backburner "split scanline")
a Renderfarm can not useclassic DR due to some special points
I not know how other farms do DR - as long they slice the image into parts as I do then DR fail (or better say SSS not fit togehter 100%)

we at Rebus not simply slice the image into parts - we use a more smarter way so we can render at least LC, IRR and image distributed - you not need to bake the GI first
but for SSS that way is not working -sadly

other farm with the classic DR can help you
