  • VRay Material in Viewport ?

    hi all...

How can i see the VRayMaterial in the viewport like a standard material.
Just clicking the show in viewport button in the material editor doesn't seem to work.

the only time i've seen VRayMaterial in viewport is in OSMOSIS Study hall
tutorial ( and a very good tutorial it is !!! )

    so... how to do that...

    thanks all

    bakbek.

    Hi Bakbek,

On the ME options you can check Vray as renderer,

To be faster I have only checked:

    - Simple Multi Display Below Top Level
    - Display Maps as 2D

    Number of slots 3x2.

      hmmmm....

      Thanks for the quick response...

those options are on from the first time i used vray... but i never seen materials in the viewport !!!

only now when using VrayMaterial from osmosis tutorial i can see it in the viewport ( but still not all of them work in the viewport ??? )

why is that ? what m i missing here ?

it is a pain in the... u know what, not to see the material while working on it. ( all the gizmo and scale of the material is not an option !!! )

hmmmm..... what can i say...... my BAD.

never thought to chack the show in viewport button for the maps inside the main VRayMaterial.

after chaking osmosis materials i figured that one out.

so, thanks GonacaloP, for eliminating the settings option from my problems check list.

        bakbek.

          Oops, I missunderstod your question....

Do you mean Vray materials when you use a map on the diffuse slot?
You can enable the map to see it in the viewport.
