Hello everyone,
I am working on a project where I have a bowl of potato chips that need to be as close to photo-real as possible. I had some ok results with vray 2sided mat(leaf tutorial) when the objects were single sided geo, but unfortunately I need to have thickness. So now I have been experimenting with sss2. I have been using the vray manual as a guide, and tried the potato preset as a base. when I add a bitmap to either the overall color or diffuse color, the potato preset becomes much darker than the material without. So I adjusted the overall color to 50.0, and the diffuse amount to .75. Better but still dark. I am also having problems with the spec/reflections. I am not getting enough control over the reflect using IOR.
Any suggestions for all of the issues mentioned? sorry I cant show any images.
Thanks for any help!
Todd
