Hi Everyone,
I have been battling with this for a while now, and I am hoping you can help me.
Basically i have a character, and when I put a light behind it I want to see the light shining through the ears a little.
(As this is thinner than the rest of the head)
So, using the fastsss2 material I did the following:
- Set the diffuse amount parameter to 0.6
- Put in a slightly red map in the SSS colour map slot
- put the other maps in the other slots etc..
However!, each time I render, my whole character always looks like it has pink skin due to the map in the sss slot and the 'diffuse amount' parameter set to 0.6
I think is must be missing something here.. and missing how to achieve translucency.
I have also see many posts saying your model size effects things too. (tho I found nothing to say how to chose the correct parameters)
Can anyone offer any advise?
Thanks,
Adam
