  • Chrome Material

    Hi All

I am working on an animation that has chrome materials in the scene. Unfortunatly the positioning of the objects dosent help and the chrome just reflects the background which is white so the chrome material just looks white. Is there any way I can modify a material to look more chrome rather than look bland and boring.

I have tried the search but nothing has come up.

    I hope that makes sense.

    Cheers

add a VrayHRDi image to the reflection slot for the material. ... use something blurry so it does not have the real reflection just an impression...

You could also put something in the scene with Visible to camera option OFF so the at it reflects in the chrome but is not visible in the scene.

A gradient map would work as well

I usually put a Vrayhdri in the reflection/refraction slot in the environment rollout. Works well for me and everyting gets the same reflections from the map. You can then adjust the rotation for the reflections in the material editor.
