  • who is using multiscatter

    Hello together,
I thought abot bying multiscatter with one or two modelpacks like igrass or itrees.
Because they dont offer a demo version I wanted to know who is using multiscatter in production workflow and could share some experiences.
    Thank you and best regards,
    stefan

I am, and you can see my posts about it. At first, I had problems using it in my production, but then found out what was the problem. I love MS since that was exactly what I wanted for my pebble, grass, and other areas. I only bought MS, and made my own grass, etc. If I can help you any further let me know. Most of it is already solved in my threads about MS though.

I was using vrayscatter for quite a while and recently upgraded to multiscatter which I have to say is pretty cool. Its all very quick and you can get really good results quickly. I also purcahse igrass which works well with it. Igrass comes with a number of demo scenes that look really great. I personally recommend it !

Anyone know if Multiscatter is compatible with V-Ray 2.0 beta ?

          Hi Crayox13
          hi Steve,
          sounds nice! Thank you.
Is it right that I have to use only bruteforce for rendering?
My common workflow is based on irr+lcache.
          Best regards,
          Stefan

Just never EVER put any multiscatter specific maps into the extratex slot in the render elements. when u hit render max crashes to desktop without a warning!

I'm a big fan of forest pack pro

Works with igrass too, you just need to take the original models rather than their preset files.

It isnt compatable yet but they intend to release a version for vray 2.0 shortly after the December release.

You can use irr/lightcache, but it depends how much memory you have. For less complex scenes you can probably get away with it. Ive not used IRR/BF so not sure what the best method is. Im not sure how render times would compare...proabably a LOT longer !

                      Hi cubiclegangster,
forest pack looks great, too. But what is technically the difference to multiscatter?
                      Thank you for explanation,
                      best regards,
                      Stefan

Price, feature list, company, licensing method.
They're just 2 different plugins which do a very similar job.

I think multiscatter has a couple more features, but forest pro is cheaper and has a much better licensing system.

                            Hi cubiclegangster,
pricing? isnt it the same with 200 Euro?
                            Company, I realized
                            okay... licensing looks indeed better..

Oh, maybe it's different these days. Vray/multiscatter used to work out more expensive.
