  • camera clipping doesn't work while rendering

    Hello,
my scene display properly the physi camera clipping in the viewport but when rendering, the clipping is not working.
This doesn't happens for the first time, it happens to other scene as well.

As the problem occured randomly I'm not able to reproduced the problem.
I just notice that it happens only once the camera is animated as I never face (to date) the problem with a still camera and it appears after frame 0. The clipping work fine with the initial frame allways, and work fine with other frame as well untill... untill I'm unlucky and it doesn't work anymore.

To get rid of it, I recreate another camera, set up all parameter again, start to animated, and cross my finger while working on the project hopping that the problem will no take place again.

So far, it seems that the other frame render the perspective view instead of the camera view. I only have 2 plug in installed, Vray and solidrocks, the problem is the same without using solidrocks.

i experienced nthe same problem during an actual project. the problems came up when i animated the clipping parameters since i needed different setings for individual frames.

right, it happens when the clipping parameters are animated, but I change few other parameters as well (FOV, exposure...), so not sure wich one create the bug!

Clipping worked fine again after I deleted all clipping animation keys. But this is not the way it should work I think. Maybe Vlado can take a look at this issue.

You only have to delete all the animation keys for 'clip_on', then turn it on in camera properties (without Auto Key enabled) so it's always on and not animated.

In frames where you don't need clipping just set the near clipping to 0 and far clipping to a value larger than your scene.

              Thanks
But in that case, clipping value must be the same for all frame. It is the reverse of what we tried to achieve. Each camera position must have a different clipping value.

No, i meant you only have to make sure that clip_on isn't animated but turned on, you can still animate near and far clipping distances. Only can't animate on or off, instead you use distance 0 and 'infinite' to disable clipping.

thanks, it is the case, the clipping is on since the frame 0 and stayed on all the time. But still the problem occur randomly. Thanks for the tips anyway.
