  • Irrmap detail control defined by geometry.

If I'm rendering a scene that involves being on the outside of a structure but having some of the interior of the structure visible, is it possible to specify the amount of detail that the Irr map creates for the different areas. For example, the interior I would need higher settings to get rid of splotches etc and for the exterior I wouldn't require such extreme settings. Could these be defined by hidden geometry that encompasses these areas and sets the detail level for the irr map.

Using this method I'm thinking that you could speed up renders.

in circumstances like that you might find rendering the interior and exterior seperately would give you the best control.. also, you do have the "Gi subdivs multiplier" in the vray object properties.. so with that you can have more subdivs on the internal geometry.

IMHO -This is the BEST new addition to Vray in the last version & for what ever reason Vray don't even mention it??????? It makes the production renderer sooo much faster ....unlike usless RT GPU.
This has made a huge impact to my render times & some days I pinch myself to make sure it's true. Now the renderer uses higher samples on what geometry I tell it is important
      Such as your situation.

      Long live per-object GI control
