  • HDRI reflection Problem.!

    Hey guys,

I have a question regarding HDRI for environment.

I am using the HDRI map as the only lighting in the scene.
I am having an architectural scene with lots of glass in it.
The glass always reflects the HDRI map, which i dont want as
a reflection. I want to have another reflecting image.
I have a "fall off" map in my reflection slot.

    1. Do i need to use another hdri map in the relfection slot or
    2. do i need to use just a "normal" bitmap.?
    3. and are you using a "box" or a "plane" for the glassmaterial?

    please help.

    Thanks in advance!

    cheers Ute

u could use vray reflection/refraction enviroment....in the enviroment vray drop down menu. So if you put the hdri image into the max enviroment slot, and the other image, whatever is it for example the very blurred version of the hdri map for better looking reflections in the vray reflection.
Download the documentation, written in it.

      blurred

      Dear losbellos,

How can you blur the hdri images? Are you using hdrishop for it, or is it possible to fix in in Vray itself?

I will check for the documentation.

      Thanks!

        Hi,

Just wondering, as i never used HDRI, when you say you have a scene with HDRI light only, you mean skylight with an HDRI map in the invironment? And if yes, in the max environment, or vray override?

        thanks,
        Guilherme

          ventil185

I used a VrayHdri map in the Diffuse slot of a Standard material.

I then dragged it over to the max environment slot.

          No vray override.
