Thanks for your replies.
Tricky - I am using a HDRi in a dome light but, what do you mean by 2x1 spherical image ?
Joconnell - I saw your work for Game of Thrones - exceptional ! What roles did you fill for the VFX production, VFX supervisor, 3D ? Incidentially, my cousin played the part of the Queen.

3d supervisor, so I wasn't on set. There was 3 3d guys on it so it's not a huge team to really supervise. I did a lot of the matchmoving, lighting and scripting bits. We'd a really good modeller and a great animator on it filling in the rest. Your cousin has a great voice for the part!

Not sure if this is exactly what you need but its a copper based on the spectral to rgb conversion and ive used it on a number of pieces where the goal was an untarnished pure copper. You might be surprised at the reflection color but just take it down a bit to lessen the reflection and give it a bit of an oxidized finish.

I'm allways struggling to make a good copper. I'm wondering how you've achieved this so far. Can you show a screen of your matedit or slate?

Ages ago, i've made some sort of a early patina copper material, looked good on a few projects, not so good on a few others.

I think the reflection should probably have a slightly orange tint.Dusan Bosnjak
