  • RenderID not auto-saving when VFB is used

After reading all about creating better renders using the Gamma/LUT setting and the Frame Buffer, I thought I would give it a try. Seems like it does produce a better render, once you get used to the controls. However, even though I have VRayRenderID selected under "Render Elements", it does not seem to create the file automatically like it did when I was using the 3dsMax render window. I know I can save it manually from the VFB window, but was wondering why it doesn't save automatically?

Secondly, is there a way to save the RenderID file as a layer when I save the image as a .tif, or is that only possible through .exr?

    Thanks.

Any render passes get added into the exr or vrimg file you render out from the vray buffer, so if you were compositing in the likes of nuke you'd have them as a channel in your image. There's a "split channels" option in the frame buffer rollout if you want to pop files out separately!
