my solution sounds strange, i know - but i found here some old screenshots. stainless steel is procedural and show up, the other one is with jpeg-texture and is black

maybe it will solve easy, if you allow SYSTEM to have full access to your folder where you store your textures

      Hello Jonm4y,

Would it be possible to send us the lamp scene to: support@chaosgroup.com
so we could investigate that further?
      Best regards,

by all means! expect an email shortly!

I shall send you my original 'bedroom scene' as I have a friend looking at the lamp one as we speak.

Best of luck finding the solution!

What was the outcome or solution to this? I've always had the same issue and it drives me crazy..

            Hello landrvr1

Would it be possible to send us a stripped down version of the scene for investigation to support@chaosgroup.com
Let us also know what version of Max and Vray you are using and include a link to this thread.
Thank you very much in advance.
