Ok, don't worry.
I would like also to understand the possibility to have good time with BF+LC + sub-pixel off.
RT, CPU and GPU version and PPT look like not a good solution for an interior scene.
Anyway, 2 hour for 1024px, for my opinion. it's a lot of time with new Intel CPU.

Yeah this is pretty tough. No matter what settings you input into this scene...render time does not look good, or you have noise.Dmitry Vinnik

Yep. 2 hours for that resolution is no go. Bf+lc wasnt even an option. But I dont think it's the gi solution taking time in this scene. It's mostly glossy reflections and refractions combined with dof that is making it so hard to calculate. And when putting those to this overbright environment... hmm.
Have you tried to render underexposuring it and tuning the brightness back in post?Lasse Kilpia

I can send you the max file. We don't use Maya
yes, I think the same. VRay is very slow with glossy reflection when sub-pixel is off. Vlado wrote about the new VRay:
From Vlado. "Since we don't have adaptive multibounce sampling yet, you will have to find other ways to remove the sources of the noise".
But... in every interior scene, usually, you have to work with glossy walls, floor and ceiling.
I don't want to underexposuring it and tuning the brightness back in post. It's not a correct way to work.

wxyz, thanks, but the rendering looks very different. Why?
What's your color mapping/camera parameters? Did you change something?
Also, on the right side, inside the dark furniture, you can see some splotches.Last edited by cecofuli; 25-05-2013, 09:28 AM.

A bit beside the purpose of this thread but a tip:
What I sometimes do is noise reduction, if carefully executed you can get away with it (carefully=per channel).

Morbid, are you talking with me? Corona doesn't support DR in the actual Alpha4.
