  • VRayBlendMtl - what are Coat Duo / Blend Duo for ?

    Hi,

    As per heading !

    Manual needs updating.

I've looked and searched - materials aren't my strongest suit so I will play with this but if it can be explained I'd appreciate that too

    Thanks,

    Jez

I'm not sure what's the question? Can you explain a bit?

    Best regards,

I think He/she means Dup, not duo.
I have also wondered why these "dup" parameters and slots appeared, or what their function is.

Specifically, there is no mention of these in the documentation. (This applies to a lot more stuff, but as you said yourself earlier, Chaos have let the docs slide for a while now).

From what I remember, they were needed in order to access the coat materials in a particlar way from MaxScript. From what I remember, people wanted to access them as an array, whereas we originally coded them as separate parameters of the plugin. It's confusing, but we didn't find an easier way to do it without breaking old scenes. From that point of view I don't see much point in mentioning them in the docs...

        Best regards,
        Vlado

              They are so annoying!
When you get 2,3 blends inside eachother it becomes so hard to find stuff haha.

Yes, this is true unfortunately. We still haven't found a good way to hide the extra ones. Will keep looking...

In the slate material editor you can hide any slot by right clicking: Show/hide Slots: maps: and choose the dup slots. I guess we can make a script to hise all the *dup* slots.
