  • what is the best way to make a Downlight?

    I have a night scene and is illuminated with downlights? can someone give tips on the setup?

    what do you mean by "downlights"??..spot lights??...as for illuminating w/ spots in a night shot...you'll have to be more specific than that.....can you show the scene to be illuminated or give more details??

      yes spot lights ERCO refers to the type of lights I want to recreate as "Downlights"

        what i have done is downloaded the max/viz file from erco.

        all the erco lights have the same one multi-subobject material. I go into each material of each subobject and remove all the raytrace materials. I also create an output map on the "lens". I then save each erco light as a seperate max file and merge into the scene.

            Why would you want to save them as seperate max files?
            Or are you just talking about the many different types lights that you downloaded?
            Sorry just a little confused !
