I only did a recompile for 3ds Max 2015. It is likely that the bugs that were in the code crashed earlier 3ds Max versions too. I can recompile all versions if you are interested.
I use Vlado version of course and I try to use Central Mapping feature to color every whole tile with one color. But I cant make it to work. I think I do something wrong or miss something, but dont know what. Please can help me somebody?
Tbh, my experience with open source is limited to that of a user, but I have been playing with various Linux distros over the years, and using some FOSS applications like Libre Office etc, and it seems the devs working on those projects are pretty good at keeping track of who does what and why.
I'm guessing this issue we are talking about here is because of devs not used to the FOSS universe doing quick hacks and fixes without any peer oversight, who ever these guys are.
You guys (Chaos et all) seem to have your shit together, so I'd much rather trust your stuff than some random glue-sniffing programmer on the interwebs mid night recompile
Glad to see people using these maps! Sorry I haven't really been around to support them. I haven't touched 3dsmax or any other 3d software for several years, since I work on a bit different field nowadays.
If you have spare time Vlado, you could also fix the bump mapping on BerconTile, for some reason I never got it working properly. The center mapping uses custom shading context that is passed on submaps, so it can edit the UV coordinates. It's possible something there doesn't work in the latest max anymore. Unfortunately I can't really help more than that here.
I talked with Dave, so this version should be up on maxplugins.de fairly soon. I'll have to consider putting this into github to avoid further fragmentation. However, since I don't even have 3dsmax installed atm, I'm not sure if I'm the right person to curate it.

It would be great if you can put it on github, it would avoid a bit of confusion.
And this is why I shy away from using 3rd party software, too many developers leave the 3d industry and go into doing something else. Glad the software will be handed off to Dave!
