  • Any reason not to upgrade to 2016?

I'm on 2014 Vray 2.4, but today purchased 3.2. Any reason not to upgrade to v2016 as long as I'm at it? I hear great things about the new camera.

    Thanks.

It has been discussed already on the forum - Max 2016 has a display issue with Groups - as in viewport performance can slow to an unusable level. Groups has always been a big part of my workflow, so here's hoping the SP1 will fix it. In typical Autodesk fashion - they take something that worked perfectly fine, break it, and then charge you money for it.

I was wondering if there was a reason to upgrade.

The object preview selection, opensubdivs, quad chamfer, better import for revit, sketchup,.. (I come from 2014, so I have a good reason)

Too bad I didn't read about the group problem, altough, I don't like to group things as a group of 1000 objects is a lot slower than putting everything in one poly even in 2014.

http://download.autodesk.com/us/supp...Product=3dsMax you can submit a report here, the more people report this problem the faster it will be resolved I guess.
