black spots with vray in a rhino imported file

    Hi fabrizio,

    Yes it's a pity, but logical otherwise you would loose the object names. Just make a habit of naming every part you create in rhino. You could also (before importing) select objects in rhino per layer and give them a name all at once.

      Thanks , but i really have no problem with 3ds , as rhino lets you adjust the meshing properties ..
      maybe it's because i'm just doing architecture (and car prototyps) ...
      I guess in some other fields the rhino mesh could be a problem....
      But still .. npower is great ...

      p.s.

      i have the new rhino tools bonus pack installed .. it's a preview of the next rhino release , available from the rhinoceros site 4free .. and it seems that they will implant a feature like power booleans in the next rhino release ...

        obviously with Rhino meshing system you can obtain the same either with architectural model either with whichever object.....
        when you have, as stated by flipside, many objects with different shapes, then you have to use different meshing settings and with large models it is very time consuming; but with npower all is done in a click and the model geometry is perferct anyway. a great task!

          I know... what i ment is , in architecture, you do not have so many different and complex shapes when speaking about the fillet side of the story...

            ehhee not always true ) It depends on either how much detailed your model is and what type of architecture you are used to model.

              well .. i don't know about you guys, but i use fillet only in the furniture and fixing... not in ther walls... but maybe you can prove me wrong...
