is it possible to add a system time stamp at the beginning of each line in the vray log window?

The date is there pretty nicely (though I prefer numeric for sorting purposes). It would be helpful for grepping and other text parsing tools to have the severity on every line. I would use traditional severity levels from syslog.
This is at a "small annoying things" level of importance, though.

V-Ray will print "warning:" or "error:" in front of the respective messages - that should be enough for you to do what you need. If neither "warning:" nor "error:" is present, you can assume the message is an informational message.
