Couldn't you just assign a material with 0% opacity to the clipper?www.dpict3d.com - "That's a very nice rendering, Dave. I think you've improved a great deal." - HAL9000... At least I have one fan.

yes i suppose i could, but i was hoping that disabling capping might speed the damn thing up.. adding transparency into the mix might slow it down even more.. (having said that, ive been told that the clipper uses transparency internally so it might not make any difference.

you guys already looked at that scene.. it was the transparency levels that were slowing it down (with distance tex at least.. turning the transparency levels down to 5 made it render fast, but obviously was unusable. ) it was even slower with clipper and i was told that it uses transparency internally too, so would be affected in a similar way.
