Did the same thing for a project recently:

Clouds at the beginning.
To have a cheap idea of movement i used an animated displacement plus slight move. Worked for us.

Curious as to how such a thing would work on a large scale like the clouds I made for a Lufthansa project (see here:https://vimeo.com/118416338) using Terragen. I'd really like to make some of the mountain range stuff but with Max and Vray - Terragen wasn't the best experience of my life.CGI Artist @ Staud Studios

Small update , tried to cover sky with clouds.
Also i've changed method of how i create them. Houdini involved !
This is without any post and rendertime was 1 hr on my Y50-70 Lenovo with bruteforce.
I plan to animate thouse , so stay tuned !
This is still in development , so the ones close to camera are pretty low detailed.Available for remote work.

Yeah definetely will use VRayAerialPerspective on next test , wanted to make this one clean , without post or additional effects. Actually they render really fast , surprised with that !Available for remote work.
