  • Light stream from Vray Sun?

So I'm looking at VRayEnvironmentFog wondering if this is something that could simulate light streaming through a window, or would I need to look at some sort of particle system to do that?

It's possible, yes, but it's quite 'slow' but there are some things you can do to speed things up.

Very quick example, probably not the best conditions (didn't render properly either 5 minutes or so)

I'd suggest not scattering GI and turn off affect GI, reflections, refractions to speed things up (a lot).

Would there be any advantage to creating an atmospheric render element for it? Then perhaps I could do a fast render pass with GI 'off' just to get the render element?

I always do this as a separate pass, you're good.
