    Hi Vlado,

You are right! So, do I still understand correctly that, for Maya, IPR = RT CPU? I do experience improvements between SP or even nightlies on IPR for sure.

IIRC, you mentioned somewhere else that a fully interactive progressive Vray ADV will eventually replace RT CPU (hence two render engines: interactive ADV + RT GPU), and this is exactly what I am hoping to see in next SP if it is not too late.
    always curious...

You already have that in Maya. As you noticed, the latest service pack dropped the "RT" part and now you simply have an IPR tab.

      Best regards,
      Vlado

Cool Vlado! I thought that was more of replacing the naming. It's actually more than THAT! I look forward to ongoing improvements on lower latency and faster IPR updates when editing scene attributes.
Right now, in a heavy scene, waiting for IPR updates feels not much different from stop progressive render (with geo & map cached) and start progressive render with edited attributes, except couple more button clicking.
        always curious...

Vlado - just wanted to say that this is very much appreciated!

In the past I had this complicated script that would essentially turn V-Ray into draft mode so I could quick renders to test scene and I'd then turn off this draft mode through the script to get back to final quality settings. This worked great but occasionally there would be discrepancies in lighting and exposure that used to annoy me at times. It wasn't ideal for many eyars.

However having this new progressive render in Maya and Max is one of the best features. Now that V-Ray can cache and re-render quickly it's just simply a massive time-saver with workflow and makes setting up scenes a tonne easier - so...thanks!

In regards to the reflection quality of solid glass in corona ...you might be able to achieve the same way in vray by increasing the refl/refr levels to 20

ps: i am a corona noob as well
