is there a way to do this? i want to convert my scene which has lights i dont want to convert also but it seems to be converting all at once, only solutions so far was to save out those lights or objects and then import them after converting, any way around doing this and just doing it selectively?

[QUOTE=svetlozar.draganov;698275]The conversion scripts are applied to the whole scene so far, so the only option to convert specific objects only is to export them into a another scene, convert then and then merge them back.[/QUOTE
Yeah that really doesnt make sense for large scenes, especially where there are tonnes of materials and objects, i really have to do this but corona is the only other renderer i use and it has this out of the box, we need this for vrayArchitectural and Product Visualization at MITVIZ

It's a preference of yours, down to your own workflow, and limits thereof.
It takes seconds with a properly setup scene, no matter its size, to split it in sub-files, and convert those, and then bring them back together.
In fact, it'd be advisable for huge scenes to do so by default, and reference the bits in.
This said, i have not read the code, but i am sure adding a "convert selected only" option is within the realm of the doable.
But personally, i would not want it to work like that at all: nothing would be more painful for your scene to be converted in bits, and some bad shader or light type to stay as it is.
That stuff, invariably, would end up on the Support's desk (for size, search the forum for the issues a blend or a shellac or a normalbump create.), and the converter's aim is also to cut that down by insuring a converted scene is indeed wholly V-Ray compatible.Lele

That isn't to say it wasn't requested, though.Lele

There was a a request from James Burrell recently to convert only camera's or whatnot. So people are quite eager for a similar option. Vlado chimed in on the whole object selection thing: This is the thread: http://forums.chaosgroup.com/showthr...nvert+selected
