    Hey Lele,

    Could you tell me when does the Denoiser work on the Reflection and Specular passes? I see that the RGB gets progressively denoised (talking RT GPU right now) on its own element, but can't see the same for Reflection. Does the render need to complete for the denoising effects take place on the rest of the elements? Sorry if this seems to be a "stupid question" but I have a bucketload that I need to finish for a deadline and I can't test much right now.

    Best

      Thanks Chaos Group for all the hard work I can't wait go deep into this release. Alone from the small tests I did with the denoiser I can tell its a huge timesaver for me. Now I can get clean preview renders to the client even faster.
      Cheers,
      Oliver

        Good stuff!

        Anyone know if Forest Pro & Railclone work with this?

                Denoising separate render elements one by one and showing the denoised result is not possible in 3.40.01. It's planned for a future release.
                If it was that easy, it would have already been done

                  Oh, ok. So if I understand this correctly, it will still denoise the different elements at the end, right? Just not as it renders. Thanks.

                    It will use those elements for better denoising and will compose the result into the denoised RGB pass internally. For now it's not possible to see the actual denoised elements. Ah that makes it clear then. Well, count me in for any testing you need. I know some may not use these elements, but they are an integral part of my workflow.

                        Thanks for the great service pack!
                        This point alone was the reason for me to install it instantly. No changes to the lights in RT are blazing fast!

                        (*) V-Ray RT: Moving a light during ActiveShade causes two light re-exports;

                        Short question regarding the procedural textures in the bump slots for RT: Right now there is only the noise texture supported, right? Are the other ones coming in the next releases? (BerconNoise, Cellular, Smoke, Speckle etc.)

                          + Mix and Mask, sorry for missing them in the change log. We are working on the others, but I don't think we can promise anything

                              It's still many months (and at least 2-3 service packs) away; I will talk at EUE a bit more about our plans.

                              Best regards,
                              Vlado
