  • [Irradiance map???] What resolution????

Hi, I'd like to know if there are anybody who can explain how to increase the rendering speed.
So, after that I prepare the scene, I let calculate the Irradiance map:
    Irradiance map parameters: HIGH
    Hsph sub: 50
    Interp. samples: 20

    Secondary bounces:
    Direct computation
    Subdivis:10
    Depht:1

I check the autosave and render.
Finally I hava a irradiance map of 30 mb...but when I start the real redering my pc realize it in the same time of irradiance map+ rendering time.
    I cannot see any incrase...
Do I need to use a global photon map as secondary bounces???
    What can I do???
The final image is abuot 1800*1200.
Please post me a guide step by step to set the parameter of save map...
    Thanks.
P.S. Sory, sorry, sorry, sprry for my terrible english...

    maybe stupid, but I miss:
    "load from file"
after you've saved it, in the steps you descripe?

Tonight I set the resolution to 1700*1200 and then I calculated the Irradiance and the global photon map. I saved them.
So I check "From File" on Advanced Irraidance and select the map
I check also "From File" on Global Photon map.
But when I start the rendering I see also the prepass.
        Why???
If I use Cornell Box file, on a rsolution of 500*500, I cannot see any prepass after I've calculated the irradiance and photon map???
Do i set a wrong resolution???

maybe you are using interpolated glossies ?! Check it out, they produce prepasses even with precalculated irr.maps

it's under your material that has relfections glossies......under the refelc tions color swathc and glossiness spinner....
it's a tick box.......make sure it's unched and set your sudvs. to about 8 or 10....maybe higher if the reflections look grainy...

                Great!!!
But What kind of glass may I use???
I don't want to see any prepass after I've calculated the irradiance and global map.
May I use a phong mat with 20 of trasparency and a VrayMap for reflection on 40???

What kind of resolution do I set for a irradiance map if the final image is 1800*1200???
I don't want to see any prepass...
I change all Interplated glossy mat...
I've only 2 standard material with VrayMap as Reflection...
