  • Blend to a Seethrough material using VRayBlend, or another proper way

    Hi,

I need to use a map to blend to a seethrough, invisible material. I haven't found a way to do that in VRayBlend material. Using a standard blend material does work in the beauty, but messes up the render elements, and I know is not the proper way to do it. What is the right way to do that?

    Thanks

if you put your material in vray blend coat, and leave the base as nothing - you should be able to blend the same way.

        1. Create a VrayBlendMTL with a Vraymaterial in the base layer.
        2. The baselayer material has a vraycolor map in the opacity slot set to black
        3. Create your vraymaterial that you need to see in the coat layer and the map you want to use as a mask in the blend amount.
        4. ???
        5. Profit

Edit: woops; apparently I took too long to answer. And the base material with black in the opacity slot isn't necessary apparently
