Hi, I recently updated my copy of max to 2017 (despite many recommendations not to), in general things have been going ok, but for some reason when i turn on depth-of-field under the sampling menu in the vrayphysicalcamera the image renders completely black. I've never experienced this problem before when I was using 2015. Does anyone know what the problem might be? Thanks

Sure, I attached a new basic scene I made, loaded the vray defaults and quickly adjusted a couple of settings and the same problem happened- renders fine at first but after DOF box is checked it renders black.
Thank you!

If you insist on using the VRayPhysicalCamera in max 2017 (they have a PhysicalCamera there), you have to switch the exposure control to VRay exposure control in Environment and Effects to avoid problems.
It could be a bug though, so thanks for the pointer! If it was that easy, it would have already been done
