  • Phoenix FD - Ocean Crest showing ?

    Hello,

was wondering if we can achieve this same effect as the reference picture here, these little white crests on the sea can be achived with the phonixfd 3.0? with or without doing simulation? can it be as texture?

Phxfoam texture doing exactly the same.
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

Yes, but the problem we have a very large infinite ocean, and how come we can simulate the PhxFoam for all of it ? or there is another trick so we can only just apply the texture?

so how to activate the coat dup in my material slot so i can connect the others? any idea?

i also assigned the material to the ocean i did, but with no success i cannot see the foam maybe the dup is the problem missing?

Don't worry about the Dup slots - they are not an issue. Double check your setup, especially the color correct map, and see if lowering the birth threshold would make it appear. If this does not help, try switching to scanline and doing the other setup that does not use V-Ray material just for the test. If this does not help, please send the scene over to Support so they will check it.

Also, here is an example scene that you can use to double check your setup against:foam_texture.zip

Should be working fine with the Demo. What 3dsmax version are you using?

Just tested it and it's working in here? What problems are you facing exactly? You can't see only the foam or nothing renders at all?

From what I see you are using a displaced plane for the water surface. This one is not working with the Foam Texture for now. If you use the scene Svetlin has provided it should work. It uses the PhoenixSimulator as a source.

I have just come across this texture for a project I am working on and at the moment I have the V-Ray displacement modifier because I have additional modifiers on it doing other things. As the OP found out I am also not seeing foam in the render. I assume this has yet to be fixed to work with the displacement modifier? Any work arounds?

                              Thanks!
