  • PBR material support

I think from substance painter you can save as a PBR material. Will this type of material ever be supported in vray ? As in, a straight conversion from substance painter rather than having to re-create it from scratch in max/vray ?
    Regards

Even if you use the standard pbr workflow in Substance Painter you can directly convert it to vray compatible maps during export. I tried it a few times now and it works pretty well.
If you use the vrayhdri map to import substance painter's texures don't forget to set the Color space for everything to: Color Space : Type : Inverse gamma. except the reflection and diffuse map.
      Cheers,

Substance export is really bad true that. U can either make a preset of ur own in substance with ur own maps/names and its plug n play (i have one of my own but again u need a very specific workflow like gloss and not metalness etc etc so it still can get confusing).

Or u can try this free plugin : https://hocuspocus-studio.fr/tools/p...ce-to-maxvray/

PBR is supported in any offline engine. All u need is the proper map exporter per software in order to not get confused

Since it would be soo much easier to convert 3ds max procedurals to pbs workflow engines.
German guy, sorry for my English.
